RENEWABLE SOURCES OF ENERGY AS A DETERMINANT OF FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC POLITICS OF SAUDI ARABIA IN THE 21ST CENTURY

The energy policy of Saudi Arabia is discussed in this dissertation. Saudi Arabia as a state riched in oil, represents one of the world’s key factor in the energy field. However, oil is an energy gent which greatly contributes to environmental decline and climate changes. States and their citizens, well aware of potentional catastrophic consequences caused by overuse of unclean energy gents, are gradually turning towards renewable, green sources of energy which don’t violate our environment. Saudi Arabia is one of those states which has announced the turning point in its energy policy towards this type of energents. In relation to this, the dissertation intends to give an insight in its future plans concerning this matter, as well as to show what important role the renewable sources of energy have in its foreign and domestic policy.

THE INSTITUTION OF LOCAL OMBUDSMAN - COMPARATIVE EXPERIENCES SELECTED WORLSWIDE AND THE CITY OF BELGRADE

The paper analyzes one institution that has experienced expansion around the world in recent decades - the ombudsman. Taking into account that during this period a relationship between local authorities and the central state authority changed significantly, as well as that local authorities gained increasing competencies in relation to the citizens, this paper put special  emphasis on local (i.e. municipal) protectors of citizens. The aim of this paper is to point out the capacity of the protector of citizens operating in the city of Belgrade, with special reference and comparison with local ombudsmen around the world (particularly with practice in Spain and the Netherlands).
