ЈОШ ЈЕДАНПУТ О „ЧЕТИРИ ВЕЛИКЕ ДЕБАТЕ“ (Цртице из историје науке о међународним односима)

Сажетак

Иако већина истраживача сматра да постоји висок степен сагласности кад је реч о историји дисципли­не и њеним развојним фазама, парадоксално управо у тој чињеници лежи проблем. Све је видљивији, наиме, јаз између онога што је вишедеценијским понављањем постало готово мит с једне, и стварне историје са свим њеним отвореним питањима и противречностима, с друге стране. Упркос веровању како су ствари поводом настанка и развоја „области међународних односа” општепознате, број оних који изнова пишу историју дисциплине непрестано расте; подједнако са нивоа укупних међународних односа и из углова појединих држава. Није у сваком од ових случајева само трагање за истином покретач истраживачких напора: неретко се у таквим покушајима лако распознаје и интерес да одређеним тумачењима процеса и ставова истакнутих теоретичара и практичара међународне политике буду потврђена или оповргнута становишта у актуелним расправама. Важно је овде рећи и то да је пречесто и некритичко довођење у везу ста­вова корифеја политичке теорије и филозофије често ишло на штету доприноса који су пружали управо теоретичари самих међународних односа. Тешко је, разуме се, порицати било какву везу и утемељеност савремене теорије међународних односа у ставовима једног Тукидида, Платона, Аристотела или нововековних величина у области политичке теорије као што су Хобс, Макијавели, Боден,… ипак, без узимања у обзир околности у којима су деловали бројни историчари, филозофи или теолози, несумњива вредност њихових мисаоних домета неће данас имати велику сазнајну тежину, да и не говоримо о олаком посезању у далеку историју, чак и искривљавању појединих ставова како би што боље послужили сврси текућих надгорњавања.
