TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PROGRAM OF BILATERAL COOPERATION BETWEEN FRANCE AND SERBIA IN THE FIELD OF SCIENCE
The 20th anniversary of Pavle Savić Bilateral Cooperation Program between France and Serbia in the field of science was marked at the Embassy of the Republic of France in Belgrade. Those present were addressed by H.E. Pierre Koshar, Ambassador of the Republic of France in Serbia and Dr. Jelena Begović, Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia.
Dr. Aleksandra Kolaković, Senior Research Associate of the Institute for Political Studies, Belgrade, also addressed the audience and on this occasion presented the results of two projects French-Serbian relations in diplomacy and media representation: historical experience and contemporary challenges and France and the Western Balkans: legacy of the past and processes of European integration, which she managed in the period from 2018 to 2023. The mentioned projects were evaluated as the most successful among 173 projects, which have been financed so far through this framework of cooperation.
In addition to the results in the form of collections of papers, two special editions and one topic of the journal Serbian Political Thought, in French, English and partly in Serbian, the organization of one conference and five round tables in Paris and Belgrade, research visits and guest lectures by French and Serbian researchers, a special the value of these projects is the formation of new research groups and the creation of new projects.
Researchers of the Institute for Political Studies are currently involved in the multilateral project Strengthening and Perspectives of Scientific Cooperation in the Western Balkans, funded by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France and La Francophonie, and headed by Dr. Kolaković from the Serbian side.
