АНТИФОНТОВ НАПАД НА ФИЛОЗОФСКЕ ТЕМЕЉЕ АТИНСКЕ ДЕМОКРАТИЈЕ

Сажетак

Будући да је Антифонт као филозоф, писац судских говора и политички вођа олигархијске странке, био један од најистакнутијих људи свога времена, он је за своју обавезу сматрао чување основних вредности полиса као заједнице кроз разложну критику постојећих законских решења. Таква улога истакнутих људи с једне стране показује не само њихово схватање моралних обавеза, већ уједно и општи став да једино кроз критику важећих закона, политичка заједница чува оквир у којем може да напредује. Одсуство разложне критике, с друге стране, указује на супротно, тј. на изостанак плуралности мишљења што је несумњив доказ политичке кризе у коју свако демократско друштво може да западне. Како је овакав политички став промовисан још од самих почетака институционалне демократије, анализа Антифонтове критике тадашњих закона је корисна за подсећање на темеље на којима почива демократско друштво. Приказ периода у којем је демократска Атина пролазила кроз кризу данас може бити добродошао путоказ, али и упозорење на грешке које би демократско друштво требало да избегне.
